Dear seafarer's friends, 12/14/08 - 12/20/08

Many years of experience has taught us that they are most receptive this time of the year. There are unique ways to share with them the joyful gifts of Jesus in the Spirit's power. May we use the opportunities God gives us to impact the message of salvation through faith in our loving Savior. Thomas and Tom want to bless our readers and supporters this Christmas season and in the new year. We're grateful for all your love and involvement. God is blessing us with a greater harvest of souls than ever in 2009.ships visited this week2 ships on Sunday:
TAI HONESTY, and SPRING PROGRESS - All Chinese. We got on the
first ship at 19:00 as we planned to. Eighteen people including females and
children from HCC with instruments sang caroling to both ships. Elder Huang
and his wife Helen were there also. We gave short testimonies and delivered a
short message on the first ship. Twelve seamen made their decisions to come
to the Lord. Hallelujah. We gave them beautiful Christmas presents too. See
attachments for pictures.
6 ships on Monday: XENIA, KASUGA BAY, and RICKMERS TOKYO - Russian, and
Ukrainian; All Ukrainian; All Filipino. We visited the second ship last Jul. All
receptive. CHEMBULK KOBE - All Myanmar. No Christian on the ship, all
Buddhists. They received the Jesus DVDs, and the Gospel booklets.
Everywhere you go you can feel the Christmas in the air. FORMOSA SIX, and FU AN CHENG - All Chinese. We visited the first
ship last May, and the second ship last Aug. One Christian on the first ship. He
was the fitter. He wanted more Christian literature. One Christian on the
second ship, the bosun. He knew me from previous visits on the same ship and
other ships. See attachment. 5 ships on Tuesday: SCHACKENBORG, and NESRIN AKSOY - Polish, and Russian;
All Turkish. They were interested in the Gospel materials we gave to them.
SPT CRUSADER - All Indian. Five Christians on board. We prayed with two
Hindus and one Christian.
GREAT SCENERY, and NEW EMINENCE - British captain and Chinese
crew; All Chinese. The first ship was very friendly. The chief cook recognized
me from previous visits on other ships. We prayed with four of them. We need
to pray that they all have time to read and watch the Scriptures and Jesus
DVDs we gave to them. A short and initial visit on the second ship. Steven Chao came from WHCC and helped the ministry today. 2 ships on Friday: NAN HAI, and NEW EMINENCE - All Chinese. We were on the first ship
in Sep. last year, and the second ship in Apr. last year. The first ship had a
commissar, and we were still able to pray with nine people. The second ship
was from Taiwan, but had all mainland China's crew. I had a chance to preach
to the captain. He accepted the invitation to ask Jesus Christ into his heart. We
also prayed with other five people.
Payton Huang from WHCC college group came and helped this ministry
today.
2 ships on Saturday: STAR EVVIVA, and GEORGETE K. - All Filipino; Filipino,
and Greek. Receptive. May they remember to read God's Word and the
prayer we prayed at the gangway.
We also planned to have caroling on a couple of ships this coming Sunday night, but we don't know which ships they will be yet.Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love. (Eph. 6:24)
